Iran Claims Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a significant and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the US has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported debris fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
