Martínez Double Keeps Inter on Tail of Frontrunners
Inter forward Lautaro Martínez netted a late brace to secure his team a 2-0 win at Pisa, ensuring the away side firmly engaged in the Serie A title race despite a less than convincing performance.

Under manager Cristian Chivu, Inter now are placed third in the standings with 27 points total, level with runner-up Roma and only one point behind leaders Milan. Meanwhile, Pisa occupy the third bottom position with 10 points.

Nonetheless, they were made to battle all the way by newly-promoted Pisa. The hosts created numerous opportunities, but a clinical Inter scored the opener in the 69th minute when Argentine Martínez drilled a first-time shot into the roof of the net. The forward then tapped in from close range seven minutes from time.

In Spain, the Basque side staged a thrilling fightback from 2-0 down to equalize at home against Villarreal, only to lose to a goal five minutes into added time.
